The College of Europe is the oldest postgraduate institute of European studies. Since 1949, it brings together graduates from diverse backgrounds to study and live in an international environment across its campuses in Bruges, Natolin and Tirana. As a centre of excellence in European studies, the College contributes to European integration and cooperation, raining generations of students who go on to pursue exciting careers in European and international affairs. Details of the different benefits may vary by position but below is a general overview of the benefits that are usually included in your remuneration package.

Every employee receives a 2% gross salary increase for every two years of seniority at the College.

Every employee receives an end-of-year bonus equivalent to 100% of their gross monthly salary of October, paid out in two installments: half in November, half in December. Note: this is pro-rated if you have not been employed a full year at the College yet.

Every employee receives a compulsory payment of 92% of their gross monthly salary in May. Note: this is pro-rated if you have not worked a full year as an employee in Belgium during the previous calendar year.

Every employee receives a meal voucher for every day effectively worked. Value per voucher: 7.15€ College of Europe contribution: 6.06€ Employee contribution: 1.09€ Note: the amount is pro-rated for part-time employees.

The College of Europe fully covers the train subscription between your place of residence (in Belgium) and the College through a third-party payment agreement. In addition, employees benefit from the legal reimbursement rate of 70% for any additional public transport used (including bus, tram or subway). The College of Europe also offers a monthly bike allowance of 0,37€ per kilometre or a car allowance in accordance with the collective labour agreement.

The College of Europe contributes to a complementary pension scheme (on top of the legal pension). The contributions, fully borne by the College, depend on your position type and age but vary from 3% to 9% of your gross annual salary.

Every employee is automatically affiliated to a hospitalization insurance with DKV (plan IS+), entirely at the expense of the College.  You can also choose to affiliate certain family members against a beneficial monthly contribution.

In Belgium, all employees benefit from 10 public holidays and 20 legal holidays (for full-time employees and provided you have worked a full year as an employee in Belgium during the previous calendar year). In addition, the College grants 2 extra conventional holidays (Europe Day on May 9th and Flanders days on July 11th) and 8 closing days during the winter break (granted annually by the Rector).

Based on seniority: one additional day of leave is granted every 5 years of employment. Based on age: one additional day of leave is granted every 5 years from age 40 onward (with a maximum of 4 days).

The College of Europe encourages and supports all employees to follow training and continuously develop their skills. Every team member has access to a learning budget for their personal development.

Our telework policy offers the opportunity to telework for up to two days per week (for full-time contracts). This is accompanied by a monthly telework allowance of 20€ and internet cost reimbursement of 20€.
